Staying online in Mexico

Tacos in Mexico City, cenotes in the Yucatán and beaches in Tulum: a Mexico eSIM gets you online for Ubers, maps and bookings from the moment you land in Cancún or CDMX.

Mobile coverage

Mexico City, Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and other tourist areas have good 4G and 5G. Coverage can be limited in remote jungle, around some cenotes and Mayan sites, and on long rural highways.

Main networks:TelcelAT&T MéxicoMovistar

Your Globbi eSIM connects to a partner network in Mexico. Coverage depends on location, like any mobile network.

Good to know in Mexico

  • Uber and DiDi work in many cities. Both need data to book and track rides.
  • Download offline maps before driving between Yucatán towns, where signal can drop.
  • Some cenotes and ruins are deep in the jungle with little or no signal, so plan your route home in advance.
  • Cash is still common at markets and street stalls, so check card acceptance before you order.
