Staying online in Thailand
From Bangkok’s BTS to island-hopping ferries, a Thailand eSIM keeps Grab, maps and messages working wherever the trip takes you. Thai networks are fast in cities and tourist areas, and coverage reaches most of the islands.
Mobile coverage
Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and the main islands have fast 4G and 5G. Coverage gets thinner in national parks, on remote beaches and out at sea between islands.
Main networks:AISTrueNT (National Telecom)
Your Globbi eSIM connects to a partner network in Thailand. Coverage depends on location, like any mobile network.
Good to know in Thailand
- Grab is the go-to app for taxis and food delivery. It needs data to find and track your driver.
- Many shops and markets take QR payments, but carry cash for street food and smaller islands.
- Download offline maps of the islands before ferry trips, where signal can come and go.
- Cafés and hotels usually have Wi-Fi, but it is often slow in busy beach towns.
