Staying online in Germany

Berlin, Munich, Christmas markets and fast trains: a Germany eSIM keeps your tickets, maps and bookings at hand, without relying on patchy café Wi-Fi.

Mobile coverage

Cities have good 4G and 5G. Coverage on trains and in some rural areas has historically been patchier than you might expect, so download tickets and maps before long journeys.

Main networks:TelekomVodafoneO2

Your Globbi eSIM connects to a partner network in Germany. Coverage depends on location, like any mobile network.

Good to know in Germany

  • The DB Navigator app holds your Deutsche Bahn tickets and shows delays and platform changes.
  • Cash is still common in Germany. Some cafés, bakeries and market stalls don’t take cards.
  • Free Wi-Fi is less common than in many countries, which makes mobile data especially useful.
  • Germany is in the Schengen area, so a Europe eSIM works if you are touring neighbouring countries.
